| Security & Privacy
At
Residential Loan Centers of America (RLCA), your privacy is
important to us. We are committed to protecting the privacy and
security of the information you share with us. You trust us with
your personal and financial information, and we'll honor that trust
by handling your information carefully and sensibly. This notice
will help you understand specifically how we safeguard and use
information that we collect.
The information we collect To process your requests
for our services, we collect information you provide in loan
applications (completed on our website or on paper form) and other
forms and information we receive from consumer reporting agencies
and other sources. The specific items of personally identifiable
information we collect from you in an application for, or from other
sources, related to a mortgage loan are: your first and last name,
your home address, the address of the property that will secure the
mortgage loan, your e-mail address, your telephone number(s), your
social security number, date of birth, your income and assets and
your credit history.
How we use the information The nonpublic personal
information we collect is used to furnish you with our residential
financing services. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal
information about our customers or former customers to any
unaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law. For example,
to help you finance a home, we may need to disclose information we
receive from you on applications and other forms, such as your name
and address, and address of home to be purchased or financed, to
appraisers, realtors and home inspectors. In addition, we may need
to disclose information we receive from you on applications, as well
as information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as
your name, social security number, assets and income, and credit
history, to other third parties, such as investors.
We may
share nonpublic personal information about our customers and former
customers with affiliated companies. For example, we may share your
information with StudentOne, LLC, an affiliate of RLCA that brokers
Consolidation Loans to replace two or more existing student loans.
We would share your personally identifiable information with
StudentOne to enable it to offer Consolidation Loan products to you,
unless you instruct us not to do so in a form we furnish to you, or
by toll free telephone or telefax.
Confidentiality and security of information
RLCA
employee access to customer information is authorized for business
purposes only, and is based on the sensitivity of the information
and our employees' need to know. In addition, we maintain
appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard
your nonpublic personal information.
Website Security
At RLCA, our goal is to create an ongoing relationship of trust and
communication with each and every customer. We know that security remains the
primary concern of online consumers. With respect to maintaining your trust,
our web applications are on secure severs. Your confidential transactions are
secured by SSL encryption (which is Secure Socket Layer).
Your privacy and security is our priority, and we take this
responsibility seriously. We never collect your bank account or credit card
numbers online. While the risk in applying online truly is minimal, if you are
hesitant about placing your Social Security Number online, don't. We can email
you a blank application; you can fill it out and mail it back to us.
Date of our security policy
The date of our Security and Privacy Policy
is 11/09/2004.
Changes to our Security or Privacy Policies
If we
make a material change to our security or privacy policies, we will
incorporate that change in the Security & Privacy section of our
Website and note the change on the home page of our website for
thirty (30) days.
